$17,000 Stipend for Young Adults

The Chesapeake Bay Trust is currently soliciting applications from young adults 18-25 who are looking for hands-on entry level professional experience and training particularly in the environmental field.

Not only do the participants work full-time at their selected host site, but they also receive extensive leadership and professional development training throughout the year.

Stipend: $17,000
Commitment: Full-time (40 hrs a week) for a year
Start date: August 22, 2017

The purpose of the Corps Program is to:

  1. enable young adults to work with host organizations and communities throughout the Mid-Atlantic region on issues surrounding the Chesapeake Bay
  2. provide leadership and training opportunities for young adults pursuing environmental careers including conferences, trainings, grant writing, project management and others.
  3. help participants to manage programs and projects in the realms of environmental restoration, community engagement, environmental education, energy conservation, sustainable agriculture and forestry that will promote and sustain the Bay and its surrounding environment.
  4. gain career skills and become more engaged through meaningful community service.

The Chesapeake Bay Trust anticipates placing 30-35 individuals with nonprofit organizations and government agencies throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
